The dhrupad residential workshop with Uday Bhawalkar and team was a deep journey into another universe where time seems to move more slowly, and the ear opens in sensitivity to hear a primordial sound.
Early morning Kharaj and the supremely elegant Bageshree alaap were highlights.
Also finding new friends and spending time simply playing bansuri in the middle of a large open field, under summer skies at the end of long days singing. I both resisted writing anything down during the workshop and transcribed the audio note by note after returning home. I can really feel how elements like meend have improved so much through focused repetition and being in the presence of a true maestro. ?❤️???
